I believe he means the engine side of the PCV system changed from the intake manifold to the oil fill tube. The other end still went to the tb. Routing from the intake, the valve cover or the oil filler tube to one of the other two wouldn't work. In order for a PCV system to work properly, one end has to be attached to a manifold vacuum source, and the closer it is to the tb, the better it will be mixed with the incoming air, and less likely to foul a specific plug.
