No tension on clutch cable... what am I missing?
Just replaced my rear main seal and had the T-5 and bellhousing out.
When I put the tranny back in there is no tension on the cable to hook it up to the fork. The cable is only a few months old and is like new. The shift fork is brand new as well. When I took it apart to do the seal I had to push the fork in very hard to unhook the cable. It is still attached to the aftermarket quadrant inside the car.
When does the tension return to the cable? I did have the TO bearing in backwards the first try so that may have made a difference. I dropped the tranny again so I can start over. Maybe when I flip the TO bearing will it take up the slack in the cable?
Thanks.
