I would at least have a piece of panty hose over your carb. It would really suck if a rock or something somehow got sucked into your engine. I've seen a piston where a nut got dropped into the intake and eventually made it to one cylinder and pretty much tore up the top of the piston and both valves and the cylinder wall. It looked like someone had gone crazy with a ball peen hammer. So, yeah, put something on there, doesn't have to be a big *** filter though.
