I greatly appreciate the reply, however, that is the install i've been following. The problem is, it's for a hardtop, not a convertible. I used to have a 96 hardtop, which this would have been a sinch for (i had it wired to the h/u though originally).
I ended up finding out (through plenty of excess panel removing) that the "data cable" for the convertible is accessible by simply removing the rear seats (just the seat part, not the back). From there, it's a super easy to wire as well.
I am having one last problem though. I ran the remote lead/turn-on wire to the fuse box, and wrapped the wire around one prong of the 30A fuse listed in my owner's manual as being for the "mach 460 subwoofers" which i assume to be the rear speakers. My amp is now on (and incidentally doesn't "thump" loudly when changing radio stations or back and forth between radio and cd), but the problem is that it stays on even after the key is taken out of the ignition. Can someone tell me (by name, or number from the owners manual?!?) a fuse to tap into which will turn on and off correctly?
i read some other threads which mentioned tapping into an empty accessory slot. Would this even work? What size fuse? any empty slot?
Thanks if anyone can help!
