I was driving this past summer and punched it and my cowl hood came flying up...scared the hell out of me. Dinted the cowl panel, roof, cracked the hood, wreaked my gauges I had mounted.
Luckly for me my Autopac paid for it ALL!, new Cervinis hood, Autometer gauges, paint for the hood, fenders, and roof.
As far as replacing the steel cowl piece you could get one from a wrecked car from the wreckers, they are only held on by a couple of tack welds. I was thinking of replacing it but Autopac paid to get it fixed...I guess a good body shop can fix that sort of thing. But like I said, even someone with no autobody experience could tack a new one into place.
