The trickflows are good heads, but not the best. They are a good aluminum head that dosn't have a huge price tag on them.
If you are going to spend all that cash on the port work, it would be better to start off with a better head. The reason I recomended the canfields is because the low lift flow #'s are exellent and the numbers increase past .600 lift where some heads fall off ( i'm assuming your cam will be this big because your building a strip car). Because of the extra cubes, the 347 can use the bigger intake runners the canfields have without killing torque.
When I was building my motor I called allot of engine shops (Bennet racing, panhandle performance) and they all agreed that Canfields would be the best bet on a 347 race motor. Victor jr's were a close second.
I love my choice. Good low end grunt and it revs to the moon.
