Take it for what it's worth, but my humble opinion is to leave the TCC alone. Not only is it good for fuel economy, but modifying it will probably get your warranty voided, and the Mach 1's auto transmission is just about the only auto tranny that Ford has gotten right in the past 20 years. The auto Mach 1's are running right with the sticks from everything that I've seen (small miracle for the enhanced AOD called the 4R70W)
While the Mach 1 may have 300ft/lbs of torque, and its got a lot more of that torque lower than what the N/A 1996-2001 Cobra's had, it's still a higher rpm engine than the older muscle cars, and the kickdown for passing is there to prevent the engine from lugging. Lugging is an especially troublesome problem considering its ridiculous 225* operating temp.
