I don't see the average '04 mustang being a collectable at any point. Maybe a Mach 1 with as much extra stuff as you can possibly get on it. Maybe a Saleen our Rousch. Having just gone to see a bunch of old Mustangs the Shelby's and Mach's are collectable but not just a staight mustang V6 or GT. There was a early 70's Mach 1 in really great shape there and the asking prices was only $28,000. Don't know what it cost in 1970 but probably not much more than $5000-$7000. So holding for 30 years gave you 5x your money not counting upkeep and insurance in the mean time or inflation. A good mutual fund would have done much better.
