Amen to that.
I know some will disagree with me, but I never use it unless I have to. I have taken several water pumps off and seen where the previous installer used a ton of the blue rtv on the gasket. Leaving only about half of the water passage open. Plus it looks funky sticking out around all the edges. They make gaskets for a reason.
