Re: The Best Mustang Ever
Anybody read the HRM artical testing the '05 GT? It "wheel hopped it's way to a 13.90/101" with a professional driver. After fixing the suspension, exhaust, taking off a few hundred lbs.,and burning a new chip, it went 12.77/111.42.
I was a little non-plussed to discover that the original Ford chip won't allow engine rpm to exceed the equivalent wheel or drive shaft rpm for a given gear, by more than some arbitrary amount. That means no high rpm clutch dump launches and no good power shifts with your foot on the floor. I just hate it when power is killed electronicly to the engine without any good reason.
That phenomenon just sucks in factory form, IMHO. Fortunately, it can all be fixed with after market goodies. Why is it that Ford always seems intent on screwing up a good thing?
