Your fuel pump still comes on when you turn on the key? So how much gas is in it now? I'd change the fuel filter first. If that doesn't fix it, I'd check the pressure. If you still think it is the pump, be sure you go to the local dealer and get the filler neck gasket/grommet. It depends on who you talk to as to what it is called. It is like $12 and chances are that yours is close to rotten. You don't want to drop the tank or try and remove the filler neck just to replace this thing. Make sure you get the fuel pump strainer or "sock" to go with your new pump.
