Make sure your valves are 1.85/1.55. I think some later 351W heads had smaller valves. My 351W heads were angle milled to give a 59.5 cc chamber. I believe it took .050" to get that. With TRW forged flat tops with a .005 deck height, I think I had around 9.5/1 CR. A pocket port and gasket match job will help also and doesn't cost a whole lot.
I really didn't get as much as expected when I spent $2000 for TFTW pocket ported heads and 1.7 RR's. Often I reflect and wonder why I didn't spend that $$ towards a Paxton. Water under the bridge?
The jist is that my 351W heads did very well for the money spent.
