Re: My Topless Now.....
Hi Christine:
Wow...it looks as if 'Topless' (the CAR, not you) hasn't aged too well. Too bad.
However, I can't judge you too harshly because my daily-driver 1990 LX 5.0 is a little tired-looking from sitting out unprotected in northeastern summers and winters for 15 years too, but it's still basically intact, has never been hit and just needs some minor bodywork and fresh paint to bring it back to near-new condition.
Your Mustang looks worse - but only because it was once so pristine that the comparison (then to now) is startling. It could be 'brought back' if you wanted to and invested the money necessary to restore it to it's former glory. We all have our priorities and for you, the 'Stang is obviously not on top of your list - but don't feel bad, my Mustang hasn't been near the top of my personal priority list for some time now, although I still appreciate it.
That's why I'm selling it when the warm weather breaks here in a few more months. It's still nice enough (with 125,000 original-owner, well-maintained miles) to fetch a good price but if I hang on to it much longer the cost to make it sharp again would equal whatever I might get for the car at sale. You are sort of in the same situation but your 'Stang is so nice 'underneath' the deterioration that it would probably 'come back' easily and be worth a lot more, should you go that route.
In any case, nice to hear from you again, here.
Stay well, girl.
Jim
