It sounds like the doors came off a roll over car. I've seen this many times at the collision center I work at. Make sure the bottom of the door is aligned properly (even gaps matching body lines) then you have to put your knee on the inside of the door and bend the top in. It sounds bad but I've had to do it on brand new vehicles to get a proper fit.
