Default Mobil 1 motor oil in a tranny?????

Over on another message board there has been reports of guys running Mobil 1 motor oil in their automatics with no ill effects.
They say it's better for the clutches and that after they tear them down, there is no sign of clutch dust in the pan, which is normal with tranny fluid. They also say you get a harder shift because the oil doesn't have any friction modifier in it.
