You don't wanna put your small kids in these cars..theres' absolutely NO side-impact protection, and bucket seats make it even more unsafe for a small child to be in the car in the event of an accident. Actually mustangs are one of the safest cars out there, They have a very high impact test rating.
Wow, 11 and you won't let her ride? My little girl loves riding in my 77 cj7.
I had a 96 gt when she was a born and it was a pain but the car seat would fit.
As for a solution to your problem dhg4489 just let him drive. lol
