I know one thing, i almost blew my engine because of mine, the fl1a filter backed off, and let all my oil out on the highway, it rubbed the swaybar, and came loose,
so im sure you know you have to use a shorter filter, i just removed my front swaybar.

Back to the subject I think it is worth keeping, Even though coolant is hot, oil is of course gets much hotter.
