You'll have to use the eliminator because of the serpentine routing, unless you decide to dump more (A/C, P/S). The optimum setup is Alternator, W/P and crank. Switching to a normal rotation W/P in the process will leave you driving only two accessories.

But, just for smog pump removal get yourself the FRPP eliminator. Remove all the hoses to the pump. Plug the vacuum lines, air injection port on the H-pipe and cross-over at the back of the heads. You'll be surprised at just how easy it makes changing plugs with all that crap gone.
