Default Re: 67 Mustang Timing help

Ok....I found TDC by pulling the valve cover watching the intake valve open and then kept turning the motor over (clock-wise) and used a pencil to tell when the piston stoped going up. I made a mark where it stoped going up and turned it till it started going down again and made another mark then put one mark in the middle for TDC. We pulled the distributor to rebuild the motor. I took the block to get machined cause the cylider walls were scared up so the distributor came out then. The problem started when we got the motor in the car. First time we tried using the original distributor that came off the block before we started working on it. Then we were going to replace the points and condencer but I found out you could just get a reman distributor for less then just the points and all so I got it and a new cap and rotor and the thing has always just kinda spit and sputtered. I don't know how to explain it much better then that and I set the timing (or attempted to) just like I said earlier.

Thanks
