I haven't dealt with Ford AOD's as my GT is a T-5 car. However, in my previous dealings with pretty quick automatics (Chevy's), I found that a converter, especially in a powerful car, is not something you want to just find the cheapest price on. I wound up with an A-1 tranny and a JW converter. Both ran flawlessy in an 11-second beat to hell 3500 pound Chevelle. Check those companies out, I'm sure they make Ford products as well and they're quality is excellent. The price is not cheap but you get what you pay for. I had a 10" 4000 stall converter with anti-balloon plates and the whole nine yards and it cost me close to $600.00. With the right stall spedd though, you will notice a great improvement.
