From my research, I've found that the side exhasut are expensive and don't offer any horsepower increase over a conventional exhaust system.

I'm planning to purchase the V-6 adapter pipe from Pacesetter and buy a "throw-away" set of GT pipes and mufflers from Saleen. It's fairly inexpensive and will (from what I've been told) yield a greater horsepower increase.

Another option would be to have a shop install a custom cat back system with Flowmasters. The last quote I got on that was about $350. You'll want to keep the cat convertors for several reasons. First, it's illegal to remove them. Second, it will save you some bucks over a full system. And last, it will give you some back pressure that you actually need for lower RPM horsepower. Without the back pressure you'll be running higher RPMs trying to build horsepower.

As for which one makes more horspower or sounds better (GT or Flowmaster), I would say it's like comparing apples to oranges. The Flowmasters probably are superior, but cost a lot more.
