As for your questions; I would imagine the turbo has been rebuilt by now. If not, plan on doing it.
I believe the ripple effect on the lower paint is a protection against stones, etc.
I would assume that if the '84's had bad paint jobs, it would be pretty obvious by now, 16 years later.
The transmission is a modified T-5.
This is a rare Mustang and a real find.
Expect to pay well for it, unless the owner is either hiding something or doesn't know what he has.
