If you like them and they fit go for it. It is your car and you can do to it what ever pleases you. I don't blame you for changing the seats. The 60's low bucket seats have no neck support. We all know what would happen if one gets whiplashed.
As for me I like the original look, and I guess I will compromise my saftey for originality.
Don't take it personally from others, I support you 100%. Those guys may be the same guys that ruin their orininality by installing tacky hood pins, racing RPM guages, overkilling their engines and installing 9 inch 4.11 rearends that make their cars go 4,500 RPMs on cruising speeds, when it is only used as daily driving or for cruising, and not intended for drag racing.
