428 is an FE block, 429 is a 385 block. Two completely different animals. Putting in a 429 would be major surgery and more trouble and expense than it's worth. Why not just rebuild and warm up that 302 if finances are tight? You can still get decent power out of that small block on a relatively small outlay of cash. Tht's my thought.
