Now I am confuse whether to purchase a Holley, or an Edelbrock. I guess in a sense it is like comparing a Chevy and a Ford. Or Pioneer with Sony, and probably depends on the model too. A basic model and a top of the line, with a the features that make it perform better, durable quality parts, etc. Similar like comparing a Ford Escort with Ford Mustang.
I have not decided still what to buy and I am sure I can expect bad or good luck from either one depending on the model, and how I use it and abuse it.
I have asked plenty of enthusists on whether Holley or Edelbock, and it seems that Edelbrock has more favorable responses till this moment. Even from profesional carburator rebuilders. They have stated that Holleys have the reputation of sticking after a while of not in use. It is sad to see that my brother paid around $200 for nothing. At this time I am thinking of purchasing the Performer 289-302 (idle-5500) rpms Edelbrock intake manifold and the Performer Series 600 cfm Carb with electric choke.
I like to hear more from disatified consumers of Edelbrok and see if I change my mind again, but I probably doubt it.
