I know the 8 inch is a strong diff. but I was weighing the cost of rebuilding my 8 in and putting gears and a spool in it, versus trying to find a locking 9 in. Honestly, its been a while since I priced anything for my old Mustangs.
I want to find a T5 from a junkyard, and rebuild it if need be, but I cant find any at all around here. Does anyone have a basic idea of the cost of converting and auto first Gen Mustang to a T5 5 speed?
I know the drive shaft will need shortened and of course the cost of the T5, if I ever find one, and the cost of the clutch and components, but the specialty parts, I'm not sure about the cost, anyone have any ideas? Please tell me, the cost is important, if its to much I'll just put my money towards the 2000 GT.
