Why'd you buy a 2-bbl carb? If you were going to spend the money on a new carb, and wanted to improve performance, why didn't you buy a 4-bbl? A 4-bbl is very, very necessary for making that engine run good.

Anyways....the heads on that engine are good stock. Huge valves....something like 2.02/1.71...something like that.....You might want to get them ported/polished. You need an aluminum intake (4-bbl!!!) with at least a 650 carb (4-bbl!!!!), a decent sized cam. You will need gears to get off the line, and a stall converter if there's money left over.
