welding up the torque boxes is a piece of cake. I just did this mod on my 78 Fairmont here at school. The biggest pain is getting the whole rear end and control arms out. Just make sure you have clean metal and the gaps arent too big. I used a torch and a wire brush to clean off the sheetmetal, much easier than trying to sand it. 110V mig welders work best. If you stich weld technique you shouldnt have to worry about setting the inside of the car on fire. GOOD LUCK
