Well, yesterday was the day. The day I would
FINALLY get my car down to the strip to get some times.
For those of you not aware, I have been assembling my 89 GT for 2 years now, almost to the day.
Anyway, it was an absolute perfect morning to go racing. I get to my shop about 7:30, do some finishing touches to the roll control, and I am done.
I decide it might be a good idea to do a test burnout to make sure everything is working correctly, so, I did just that.
Well, this is when it got really fun. As I completed I heard a nice knocking sound. Where? COMING FROM THIS BRAND NEW MOTOR!
Popped the valve covers only to discover 1 broken pushrod, another ruined pushrod, and more metal shavings than I cared too.
Problem? No oiling in the top of the motor at all. Possibly plugged restrictors.
Ahhhh, another 3 weeks at least. I love waiting.
