Just to add to this thought...
Europe and North America should never be compared with prices. We are two very different places, culturealy and geographily (sp?).

We can't just go using all the so-called "good power sources".
The flooding from hydro power destroys massive amounts of wildlife habitat and is argueally just as bad as other source.
Wind Power stations require massive enviromental damage when they are established (needs lots of land to create the required power)
Solar Power...ever wonder what goes into the making of solar power panels? I bet the energy and chemicals that get put into making them and no better for the environment than anything else.

simple fact: Power is not clean or evironmentally safe.
