Thumbs up

The sentiments you guys have posted are a good example of the difference between the radical Islamic terrorists and Americans.

While our soldiers will go into enemy territory with a job to do, the radical Islamic terrorists see any American; civilian, women, child, office worker, whatever, as the 'enemy' who must die. No mercy. No sympathy. To them, no one is innocent. All Americans are enemies and all must die. Pure unadultered hate not tempered with mercy, much less reason.

No, I don't wish to see hapless civilians killed in Afganistan but they cannot escape what the leaders choose to do. They harbor and help a murderous terrorist who vows death to the West and uses trusting people who believe his twisting of the Islamic religion to justify random killing of equally innocent civilians. Bin Laden and his henchmen as well as many other Arabs danced in the street and cheered over the WTC/Pentagon plane-bombings.
Never forget who we are dealing with.

I applaud the manifestations of compassion and deceny expressed in this (and other) threads but I caution against getting too sentimental over our sworn enemies. They hate us and our way of life. Don't forget it.

This is war, not some U.N. peacekeeping mission, as we all should realize by now.
It won't be pretty. People die in war. 5000 have already...all civilians on September 11, 2001 in New York City and Washington, D.C. as well as in a field in Pennsylvania.

We must not become like the Islamic terrorists but we must also never forget what happened on September 11. I won't.
