Crap like this isn't supposed to happen to guys like you! Now I'm confused too. I never met her, Sky, but you always put her first, and always spoke highly of her. You're a terrific person. You're in good shape, you maintain a steady income, you are always willing to listen to others, Hell, Sky, you're 5 times the man most guys your age are. It's her loss, but I know that doesn't mean much right now. Reading your post brought back some really deep wounds, and I really can feel for you. There is no simple answer. I, and everyone else can tell you that time really does help heal, but that line is probably pointless right now. It's going to take a while before this even sinks in. You've got a couple years on her, man, and she's probably just feeling antsy. Be glad she told you this way, rather than finding out after she starts seeing someone else. That's what happened to me, and I'll tell you, there's no lower feeling in the world. You guys have some more talking to do, but if you start to feel angry, back off, and get away from her. Anger only makes things worse. I'll tell you what, we already won the championship, but there is still one more race for us this Saturday. Why don't you come down to the track and hang out with us in the pits this Saturday. It might help get your mind off things, and the change of scenery couldn't hurt. Not to mention, I know you're going to dig checking out the 700 horsepower beasts. Last week, there were 33 regular sprints, and 21 seniors! There will probably be at least that many this week. If you can't afford the $20 for the pit pass, I'll cover it for you, but I may put you to work! Let me know before Friday.
Either way, Sky, I'm really sorry you're feeling what you're feeling right now. I know it hurts.
