Last night on the way home from work I decided to see how fast I could get my car going on a stretch of road that leads into a sharp 30mph curve after a long straightaway. Previous attempts before the exhaust were close to 125mph. Last night she made it all the way to 135mph and was climbing a lot faster than before. I nearly lost it in the 30mph curve that I have taken many a night at the same speeds (about 70mph). After the adrenaline wore off and I looked down at the gauges to my horror my temp gauge was off the charts. I almost cried. I got it home (I was only a mile or so away when I noticed this) and it wasn't steaming or anything or making any weird noises, whew. But when I woke up this morning I could see why I almost lost it on that 30mph curve. I have coolant all down the side of my car
I checked the coolant and the oil and there are no signs (yet) of fluid mixing so I don't think I blew a head gasket.
What water pump do you guys recommend? I have a set of underdrive pullies waiting to be installed and need a high flow pump (prferably polished aluminum). I have a friend that will sell me a used Stewart high flow pump for $70. But I need one right away and his is still on his car.
Thanks.
