Uhhh, yeah, they're worth it. I had 3:55s in my '88 LX 5.0 and I've got 3:73s in my '96 Cobra. Very noticeable difference in both cases. Like the other fellow said, they obviously don't give you more power, but they bring your engine up into the horsepower RPM range quicker. If you're a drag racer (I'm not), you'll shave about 3 tenths off your 1/4 time with just gears. The best part is the "snappiness" it gives you on the street. Downshift to pass? Forget about it....just mash the pedal!
