The bumper is the only thing that will save you if you happen to have a un-fortunate accident at the track or on the street. It is the only thing that saves the motor from taking the impact. I don't think it is worth taking that chance....IMHO
You may want to look at getting alum. bumper supports, these still are better then no-bumper at all but are not recommended for the street, Steeda sells them.
