You tighten it until it doesn't leak. I recently installed a fuel pressure gauge on the schrader port. If your fitting doesn't have an o-ring, than use teflon tape. When I tightened up my fitting to what I thought was pretty tight, it leaked. So just tighten it up until it stops leaking, and check it once in awhile.
