I have experience with three intakes: Edelbrock Performer, Saleen, and now my TFS Street Heat. My intake was ported like the one you are talking about. When I switched from the the Edelbrock to the Saleen, I picked up 20rwhp across the powerband. I didn't lose any to torque. I am giving my Saleen to a friend, so I picked up a TFS that I ported and gasket matched to my heads. After running the car with the new intake, I can tell you that I am VERY disapointed with the TFS. The Saleen pulled like a monster all the way to 6000+ RPM's. I haven't been back to the dyno to see exactly what I lost, but by the 'seat of the pants' dyno, I know I have lost lots of top end hp and the torque seems to have stayed the same.
Sorry to ramble on, but to make a long story short, if you can get it for a good deal, it is a great intake. The only downside is the truck lower that it uses... not the best of quality. The upper, on the other hand, looks like no other intake and I can promise you, you will get MANY compliments on the engine after the install. I hope this helps.
