I did mine and I had it painted the same color as my car. Have not had my pics. developed so I cant post them.
I am running a carbed car so I don't need all of the stuff bolted to the shock towers. I had all of the holes welded. I then ground down the welds and smoothed them in with filler. Took me quite awhile but it looks darn good!
Be sure you pressure wash the crap with the engine out to get all of the gunk off. Then, I wiped the entire compartment down with a wax and grease remover from PPG. I then sanded all of the rust spots down. I then re-wiped the compartment down with the wax/grease remove.
This is important as it removes all foreign substance from the surface giving the paint a good surface to adhere to.
You simply cannot get things to clean, remember that. Good luck!!
