blue00gt, I'll bet your '79 didn't have the air conditioner set up. The ones w/o air take at the most 30-40 minutes to replace, but the ones with air, you gotta go a whole different direction-- basically uninstall the whole ******* dashboard which for me would take at least 4 hrs.
Yeah it sucks, but a Ford dealership would charge ~$400 dollars. I'd rather learn more about my car than take the easy, costly way out.
