Post How to keep insurance from rising after a ticket

I dont remember where I learned this trick but it is supposed to work.
When you get a ticket, you pay it with a check and write it for like 3-5 bones over the ticket amount. This will cause them to issue a return check for the overpaid balance. But you cant ever cash the check. It works because if the check is not cashed then the transaction is still unresolved and thus the insurance company never knows about the ticket because the court cant finalize the settlement.
