Question MustangWorks is slower than ever!

What happened over the last couple days? After the redesign the site seemed to load ok, but it has gotten slower ever since. I can have this site open and have the Corral open at the same time and click a topic here then switch to the Corral and open 3 topics before MustangWorks opens even 1?? What's happening to my favorite board?

BTW, it's not just the message board. The main page takes forever to open too.

I do not know. I, myself, haven't noticed any slow down at all. It could, in fact, be on your end, with your ISP, or the route your connection goes to hit our server.

Has anyone else notice any major slowdown with the server or site?

Regardless, we are actually looking at building a new, seriously hi-performance server to run the bulk of the site on. This would take the place of the current main server the sites run on, which is a UNIX base Cobalt RaQ3i-512. The new box will be a 1.2+ Ghz Athlon base machine with 1 Gig of 800 Mhz DDR memory and twin ATA100 10,000 RPM hard drives. It will also be a Windows 2000 Advanced Server box. I'm basically looking to do something along these lines in the spring perhaps.

Hey Dan,
Your description of the new server sounds a lot like the mod list of your car.
(Hi-po processor, stage II high flow memory, ported and polished data bus... )
Coincidence?

Ricer 1: Nah, fast SN95 Mustangs don't exist... Must have been a mirage or something...

It may have been a problem with the routing or something like that. It seems to be working fine now. My brother told me one time how to ping a website to see where problems were, but I can't remember how to do it.

Sounds like Dan's building a Top Fuel PC dragster
