AODE to T56?

I have a 97 GT with an AODE. Is it possible to swap in the Tremec T56 6-speed? if so, how tricky and involved of a project would this be???? Also, does anyone know around how much torque/hp the stock automatic tranny can take???

The swap is possible. Many concersions are required - find someone to help / who has done this before. I suggest you research the cost/ effort before you buy the first part to not get fooled on the job/ cost.I have seen some who outsmart themselves into getting a junkyard T56 from an F-car and then face a rebuild/ conversion for their 'stang that exceeds the cost of a new appropriate aftermarket T56.RESEARCH!!!
