Saw my '66 Stang for the first time in 6 months..
Since I'm in Tennessee for the holidays, I went to get some parts out of my 1966 mustang that is in a storage lot. Outside. The poor thing is getting worse and worse. And I have no way to get it back to PA with me. And nowhere to put it. Even worse, someone tried to break into it and screwed up one of the vent window thingys. I AM REALLY NOT HAPPY. This is my favorite car on the face of the earth, and I have to leave it there. My fiance was going to haul it to his shop in PA but he said he dosen't have the room. If he gave a rats a$$ about the car he'd be able to find a somewhere to put it. everyone thinks I should sell it, but I refuse to. I sold it once and baught it back 1 1/2 years later because it was going downhill. It looks horrible. Nobody else on the earth would bother with a car like that but me. I can't let it become someones parts car, or worse, end up in a scrapyard. This is so frustrating!!! ARRRGGGGHH!!!!! I know it is going to sound crazy, but I feel like the car is a part of me. If the car goes down, I'm going with it. There are too many times it kept me sane.

How long have you had it? How old were you when you got it? I actually understand exactly what you're feeling. It wasn't some car, it was/is your best friend. Sort of. Without delving too deep, I just wanted you to know that I, and I'm sure many others here, know how you feel. Now for the solution, guaranteed to work: Tell your fiance that you're cutting him off. No more mr. happy until your car is safely home with you. It may take a week or two, but he'll give in. Take care, -Chris

Well this must be the same butt hole u been posting about. Ur finace that is. This guy is a real jerk. If he really cared about u he would find room for ur car. Anyway none of my busissness.
I know how u feel about the car. My parents actually bought my 69 on ther honneymoon. My dad blew the car up in 1977 when i was only one year old. It jus sat on the side of the house for almost 20 years. My dad could never get ride of it to special for obvious reasons. so one day i was having a horrible day well my life was really sucking at this point back in 96. My parents came to me and where like hey what if we give u the 69 mustang I was like OMG are u serious. At that point it changed my life it really did. Just knowing that my parents loved me enough to give me their pride and joy changed my life. So me and my dad started to restore it. It took two years to get the car back on the road. I was going to college and living 150 miles away at the time so not much time or money. One thing though it really brought my dad and me close together. I was had been a real jerk and was trying to distance myself form him for a while. (just a dumb teenager.) But ever since i spent countless saturdays woking on the car with him our realtionship has never been better. The second i get home to califonia in Janurary my dad has a whole garage full of new parts to put on the car and i can't wait to work on it with him. the quality time wiht him is what makes it so speacial to me. So to make a long story even longer i know how specail a car can be to someone. HEY SORRY FOR MAKING MY POST SO LONG I HAVE JUST BEEN HAVING A FEW BEERS AND I AM A LITTLE DRUNK. I AM ONLY LIKE SIX WEEKS OUT FROM COMING BACK TO THE US AND EVERYTHING I LOVE. OK SORRY I WILL SHUT UP KNOW.

I baught the car in October '96when I was 20. It was the first roadworthy Mustang I'd ever baught. It was a mess, but I fell in love with it. The '66 "talked" to me. I got it running right, replaced a bunch of nitpicky things, and put new interior in it. I drove it EVERYWHERE. In 1 1/2 years I drove 45,000 miles. I was about 200 miles from 30,000 in one year when it blew a head gasket. I drove another 200 miles and then fixed it. It was LOUD!! It was a 6 cyl, so I also had a split manifold made for it.
Anyway, for some stupid reason I traded it for a '69 coupe, that blew the trans bofore I even got it home. I really hated that. Some kid who didn't know anything about old cars ended up with my '66. it went downhill fast. When I baught it back from him I had to have it towed home. It's been almost 2 years, and Istill haven't gotten a chance to fix it. Now, it is not even in the same state as me. I'll get this car restored one of thease days if it's the last thing I ever do!!!
