				 | I believe a 1989 AOD uses a 164-tooth flexplate (50 oz balance / 10.5" bolt circle). The C4 uses the 157-tooth flexplate. |

				 | Unless you have the big bellhousing for the c-4 you cant use aod flexplate. Take the 154 flex plate and the aod flexplate to a balance shop. Get the c-4 flexplate balanced to the aod fexplate specs. Just went through this a couple of wks ago. 40-60 bucks should set you free. Make sure you dont have a c-5 bellhousing (big) as it is deeper than c-4 and convertor will not work. dunno if this is your prob. but some things to keep in mind

				 | I don't have one handy for counting, but according to "The Official Ford Mustang 5.0 Technical Reference and Performance Handbook", page 346, the AOD uses a 157 tooth flexplate. Take care, -Chris

				 | It's excellent for factory specs and numbers! I just picked it up about 2 months ago, and have found it very convenient when in need of cam specs, vehicle weights, etc. Best of all, it's an official Ford publication. I highly recommend it. Take care, -Chris

				 | I have an AOD and C6 BB. flex plates. I did not count the teeth but they match up, so i would think they are both 164.
