I think it will be a damn good race. The 1988 Supra Turbo will run high 14's/low15's stock. They are nothing even close to the Gen IV TT Supra's, which would destroy you.

Oh, and just for the correct information, the Supra is not a V-6. It's an inline 6. Can't remember, but I think 88 used a 2.8L.

You must not get to the track much Unit the auto v6 stang is not gonna hang with a turbo anything.

make sure you don't bet your girlfriend!.... There are few things you can do;
... Take the silencer out.
.... Take out some air out of your tires (about 20psi) .
.... Take the spare tire out.
.... you said your car is auto, well learn how to drive it manually and when you raise change gears manually.
.... I heard some one said that if you remove the right head light the car gets more power (I guess it acts as "air ram").
.... remove the back seat.
.... beat the $hit out of your car in the take off.

good luck

Yeh, I don't think you'll win unless you mod your car up and quick. or do some weight reduction and acouple little things like Rocket suggested. Depends if you care about winning or just want to see how your car goes.

Good Luck,

There's a guy up the street from me that has turbo supra of that body style and has the larger fart exhaust and his turbo is really loud. His car is a automatic. One night on a main street near my house I drove by him and he pulls up next to me at 45mph and then I hear him floor it so I gave it maybe two thirds throttle in fouthe gear. I left him about 10 cars back by 90. This is with my crappy running stang that has serious performance problems.

The V-6 Mustang makes 190hp now, dude. In other words, an excellent driver can get a 14 out of it, off the showroom floor with freebies. If the Supra owner drives okay, and the V-6 driver kicks ***, the V-6 stang will make a close race of it.

So, 5.0HO better check up on your V-6 Mustang knowledge... it seems a little rusty.

The Supra has the advantage, car vs car, but it won't take much more than a bad launch to make it close.

I think you will beat the supra, if you don't something must be wrong with your car or he has done some work to his.

speaking of supras, i seen a 93 tt pull pretty good from a roll, and seen a 93-95 model go 9.9@ 152 with e.t. streets, but lots of mods, and some nos.
