so would it be a good idea since it has all new parts, and 3.73 gears, and 31spline axels?

how long would it toek to change my stuff out & this stuff into mine?

I don't think an 8.8" was available in 1979, I believe they arrived in 1986. It should be a 9" but either way it will be too wide. Figure out exactly what rear end it is before you buy it. A 9" and an 8.8" have nothing in common.

If it is an 8.8, then it is most likely too wide. LTD's are about a foot wider than a Mustang. So the diff would work, the gears would work, but the axles would be too long.

It is easy to tell if it is a 9 inch. The diff unbolts toward the front of the car on a 9 inch.

was'nt thinking when written the 79 came with a 9 inch with
a track bar and three control arms one on top. its to long but
you could probaly have it shortend cheaper then most if the mounting points will work. they did make a fox based ltd
that looks like a granada but i dont think untill the 80's
it would have a 7.5 in it though.
i know that from working in garage just cant remember years.
