Default Thinking of buying a Mustang

Well, in the last while I have seriously been looking at buying a Mustang, most likely between '87-92. Can someone give me some things to study up on, so I can get some basics to get to know them. What kind of Mileage do these things get(5.0's)? WHat are some things to look for? The reason for buying is because my little Ford Escort GT(1.8L wohoo haha) is guzzling down the gas. I am getting about 20-21 mpg out of this little engine, that is about 10-15 minute trips throughout the tank. SO why not get a car with twice the power, for the amount of gas I use .

ah.. that's so much to look for... but it all depends on what you want...

90 or 91-03 (I forgot wich) will have driver side airbags and no tilt steering colum... other then that.. they are all pretty much the same, there's little things but for the most part you're going to get a 5.0 with the 225HP.. give or take.. the numbers might have varied... later models came with hyper. pistons etc... little things...

Cosmeticaly they changed the rims and such but the cars all look more of less the same... interior things changed here and there.. but like the engine for the most part they are the same... the only major thing I think is the addition of airbags.. wich is a plus or a minus depending on who you are...

I went with a bigger intake, heads and cam, and I still get 16MPG in town.. so that's not that bad... probabaly about 20MPG on the highway.. and with the stock 5.0 you shoudl see alittle more...but dont expect alot.. .it's still a V8...

Default will this tranny bolt up?

My second gear syncros are shot in my tranny so I need to get a new one. I found a 99 cobra t45 transmission with 10K miles on it and in excellent condition for only $500. My question is will it bolt up to my 95 GT or will i need some kind of plate or new bellhousing. Also, is it the t45 a good transmission, I have not heard anything about it yet, just curious. Thanks for the help.
