![]() Ok, I've tried to ask this question like 3 times but only 20 people have viewed all three threads combined. Is there anyway to tell what size sample tube a 76mm C&L mass air meter has in it? Or any way to test it?

![]() Could u measure the diameter of hte sample tube? I mean there has to be a difference in the tube somewhere that would identify it. What about the length of it?

![]() The C&L sample tube's have a color on one of the ends that correspond to the color injectors you have, which also is how you tell the difference in the injector size.
ie: a red dot on the end of the sample tube corresponds with 30lb injectors. another thing, i think that some of the stock 19lb sample tube's dont have a color on them at all. If you would like, I can grab my dial calipers and get you some measurments on my 19lb sample tube to compare with yours.

![]() I would be greatful if you could get the measurements for me. I looked all over the tube and the only thing i could find is a highlighter yellow/green color on one end of the sample tube. I tried to find a color chart, and it said that yellow was like 36lb, and green was in the high 40's. Thanks man.

![]() I pick up .2 in the 1/4 with a 76mm when my car was N/A. I ran a 12.18 with the blower lifting at the 1K cone because of tire rub. They are good meters. Now to the tubes. No color = 19#, blue = 24#, green = 42#. I've had all 3. I just found my instructions it says Gold/Yellow 19#, Blue 24#, Purple 30#, Stock 1993 Cobra(24#) Clear, 1993 Cobra 30# Blue.

![]() Any ideas then on why a properly calibrated tube would make my car fall flat on its face after 3/4 throttle? I heard from somewhere that i needed to get a chip for this to work right, but i know thats not right. I reset mym comp, adjusted the new tb, tps, and iac. It just won't run right w/ that bigger sensor.

![]() What injectors do you have? I went from the stock mas and 19s to the C&L with 24s without a problem. Advance the timing 2-4 degrees and play with the FP + or - 2 psi. What timing and FP is it set at now? The stock settings might not work. Also, what size is the TB?

![]() Never mind on the TB I just saw it. I've talked to C&L about open filters under the hood and was told that fan wash can throw off the meter.

![]() Right now I think i have the stock injectors. I bought the car used and assumed they were stock since everything else was. There kinda orange in color. I'll try the CnL mass air with a piece of cardboard in there to stop the fan wash and see if it helps at all. But its an electric fan so any problems i see would happen all the time, not just when the rpms are up. Fuel pressure is just over 34 lbs, timing is advanced as far as it can be without pinging. I'm not sure what that is cuz i don't have a timing light. I'de assume somewhere between 14 and 18 degrees.

![]() Now that you mention timing, something popped into my head.
Some people forget to pull the spout connector when setting their timing, which will cause the exact problem you describe with your car. You should really buy a timing light (or borrow one) and do it the right way. EEC motors aren't easy to set timing by ear.

![]() The stock injectors are Orange/Tan. To set the FP take the vacuum line off of the FPR and set it to 40 psi if you have an adjustable FPR. Once at 40 put the line back on. Now that I have a the blower I had to put the stock 19#ers back in with the stock mass air and my car nose dives a little over 5K. When I had the C&L w/ 24#ers it would pull past 6K.
