![]() Has anyone ever run high octane fuel (like 110+) in their late model GT (4.6). I was wondering if it will better my track times or cause more damage than it is worth. Will it cause damage? What is the highest I should run if it is okay to run race fuel? Las time at the track I ran a 13.760 and was wondering how much further I can go... without blowing up!

![]() Don't think it will damage anything. But, it probably won't help your track times either. Unless you are knocking, using high octane fuel usually won't help you out.

![]() Hey,
Hammer did a kick*ss review of fuel and what octane ratings do and all that stuff (that man knows it all...). I think it was posted in windsor power not to long ago. Check back a couple of weeks and look for a fuel thread. It really helped my understanding of fuel.

![]() Thanks. I have only stuck to Modular madness and Street Racers (for the stories). I guess there is valuable info in other forums for me, too. I will check.
Thanks Titan. |

![]() Depends on what fuel it is. Most racing fuel has a higher octane rating. Higher octane rating=more hp. more hp=better times. I use VP racing fuels in mine..and they are the best out there hands down.

![]() I've never seen a car that didn't respond well to racing gas so it must be doing something right

![]() Higher octane burns slower thn a lower octane..depending on you set up you may loose HP with higer octane...Higher octane = mor HP with more advance timing...

![]() Maybe a little clarification....Higher octane burns with a colder flame =slower burn....you need advance with higer octane to get you HP
