![]() I'm looking to get 425-450 RWHP and would like some suggestions how to get there. If possible, I'd like to keep my current supercharger, but am open to other suggestions. Check out my sig to see mods.

![]() Thanks, I have been looking at AFR 185's. Do you know if they will fit on a stock 93gt without notching the pistons. What recommendations do you guys have for upper/lower intake and cam combo?

![]() Trick Flow and Holley make nice "matched" intake and head kits.
The Holley "Systemax" kits are popular. Any combo will do though. You will get lots varying opinion on that, but there just isn't a whole lot of difference in flow btwn any of the major aftermarket heads and intakes. Fact is, some are a tad better here and there, but all of them are pretty damn good. I like the TFS's myself, but that and a quarter will get you a cup of coffee.

![]() AFR 185's are nice too.
They will bolt right up and with a good cam will yield a significant increase in your hp. You will need a intake though really to maximize your potential.

![]() That is good considering they are about the same price. Just got finished looking at http://www.trickflow.com/ to check out some of their intakes. No prices that I could find. Maybe you have to call for pricing. The TFS Track Heat intake looks like it might just be what I need to go with some good heads. Nothing left after that but the cam. I have been putting off heads, cam and intake for about a year but can't wait any longer. When I got 300RWHP and 350RWTQ I was extremely satisfied, now I want more. I'd actually like to see about 475RWTQ. That would satisfy my appetite for about another year. After my stock engine dies I plan on getting a 331 shortblock from DSS racing. Thanks again for your suggestions.

The TFS heads and intakes are matched to each other out of the box, and will work well. The Street intake usually sells for ~$400 and the Track Heat for ~$450. I would recommend either TFS TW heads or AFR 165's, with a Street intake (or something similar operating range from someone else). Pair that with a decent mild blower cam and you're gonna make a lot of horsepower, and the torque will be there as well. |

![]() I believe that the AFR 185 will comply with his combo provided he keeps the cam "mild". I.e. something with lift below .500" and duration below 230.
A B-cam/Crane 2040 or an E-cam are both considered mild blower-friendly generics that should make piston-to-valve clearance a non-issue. My TFS's have the same limitations. 185's require hardened pushrods too, like tfs heads and special guides. Jonnyk is right about the bushings for 7/16" but that's no biggie. I also agree that 165's would probably be best for your planned combo. Just my .02
